Alfred slowly approached the tiny cafe. His speed didn't have anything to do withi shyness or hesitation. He was just dead tired. He hadn't slept properly in three days-- only catching quick dozes on an empty bench and a nap on the bus ride. The only he'd found the cafe interesting was because cafes made him thinky of squishy armchairs. He desperate for somewhere to pass out.

He only wished he'd made a point of withdrawing the money out of his account before he'd left. Now he was carrying a useless bank card in his pocket-- chock full of money he couldn't touch. Otherwise his parents would be able to trace him no problem.

Only-- now he couldn't afford a place to stay-- or food to eat. 'I want a bed. Right now.' He pleaded to every God he had ever heard of.

William had been sitting at one of the tables placed outside the cafe, half gone cigarette hanging from slim fingers. It was his first day of buisness and he was almost ready to burst from excitment. Finally! Finally he was going to be able to suport himself. No more mouching from friends and distant relatives.

Grey eyes focoused as a stranger approached and he bit his lip, trying to contain a squeal. Closer, closer, the other was getting closer. His first customer! Dropping his smoke, he flung himself from the chair and though the door, quickly taking his place behind the counter.

Alfred paused at the clerk's sudden burst of movement from the chair to the desk. He looked to either side of himself, expecting someone to walk up from behind him and stark talking to the clerk. Something that gave him an indication that this man was not waiting on him.

No such luck.

Alfred took in a deep breath-- decided to approach the stand. The least he could do was get directions for somewhere for beds. That were free. Though all that left were homeless shelters.

"Hi-- I'm-- you wouldn't happen to know a--uh-- a place to crash... would you?"

His face feel. Not a customer at all... just someone looking for direction. "Ahhh... I dont really know, I'm new here myself." He admitted, the grin returning to his face. While not all that healthy looking, the stranger was cute... William was quick to cut off that train of though before it could even take root. He was suposed to be working, not checking out boys!

"But ummm... why dont you stay for a coffee or something and I can see if I can dig up a map..." His eyes drifted over the thin frame, taking in the other's appearence. "It'll be on me..." he offered finally.

Alfred blinked in surprise at the sudden offer. It looked as if someone had payed him some luck. It wasn't a bed-- but Alfred had consumed anything since yesterday's breakfast.

"Oh- wow. Thank you. Please." He leaned against the frame of the stand. He was feeling weak. Alfred started praying again. Praying that the clerk didn't catch his stomach rumbling loudly.

"Sit sit..." He waved towards one of the many empty tables. "So, what do you take in your coffee?" Pulling out a cup, he quickly filled it with fresh coffee.

Alfred hesitated. How DID he have his coffee? The maid had always brought it up to his room, readily made for him. What did she put it in it? Alfred furrowed his brows, scratched the back of his head in thought. "Err-- maybe, two creams... two sugar?" He asked more than decided.

William nodded and quickly dumped in the sugar and cream. Almost as an afterthought, he placed some cookies onto a plate and set everything onto a tray before heading to the tabel.

"Here you go!" The boy looked like he hadn't eaten in a while... Looking a bit concerned, William pushed the plate of cookies closer to him. "So, what exactly are you lookinf for?"

Alfred's hand twitched over his knee. He had to restrain himself from ravenously shoving the cookie in his mouth. He tried to focus on the man before him--taking in the details. He reached out for the coffee, trying to look as if he was deeply contemplating the question-- though really focusing on keeping relaxed.

"Nothing-- in particular really. I guess this is just a... a vacation that went wrong."

"Oh... reeeeeally?" William asked, his tone of voice practicly screaming 'TELL ME MORE!'. Somehow he managed to reign in his raging curiosity, instead grabing one of the cookies and shoving it into his mouth, all at once. He'd never been the neatest of eaters, and the clearly showed as he devoured the cookie in seconds.

Alfred tried to slow his breaths as he continued with his cookie. 'That was MINE.' He thought, smiling instead. 'Get away from my COOKIES.' He shouted inwardly. "Yeah-- I uh. Lost my wallet." He lied. A sip from the coffee. Ha, it was better than what the maid made at home.

His eyes dimmed. Home....

William arched one perfectly plucked brow, not believing the other at all. "Wellll..." he mused "You can stay the night here, if you want." He finally offered.

((sorry for the shit reply To excited to thin!!! OMFG!))

Alfred blinked. "E-eh? Stay the night?" He asked- his mind suddenly dropping the topic of hunger and grasping for a shimmer of hope. "Where?"

William pointed up at the ceiling of the cafe. "I live up there... I can take the couch for the night. And I have a shower you can use, if you want." He smiled widely, taking another bite from hsi cookie before continuing on. "Annnnd... I'll even make you a proper dinner."

Alfred wanted to say no. He wanted to say he didn't want to be a burden. He wanted to say he wouldn't feel right shacking up with a stranger for one night. It was only one night. It didn't solve anything. He still had to come up with a permanent place he could pay for and live in himself.

But all that came out was, "Really? I'd love that!"

Damn.

"Great!" Will popped up from hsi seat and headed towards the front door of the cafe. "Since there's like... no one here... I'm just gonna close early..." Smirking, he flipped the sign to 'closed' and locked the door. He loved owning his own buisness. "Do you want to head upstaris now? You look like you could use a good sleep."

Alfred struggled up to his feet and grabbed his bag. "Sure- I just hope I'm not being too much. And it's only for the night, right?" His brain was coming back into focus. He had to be reasonable about this. This was only temporary relief from a huge problem. Get some sleep, look around for a job and find a proper place... in the course of less than two days.

"You can stay a few nights if you need to..." William smiled widely, heading to a door behind the counter. "I know what its like to nto have anywhere to stay, and besides. I like having company." He unlocked the door and started up the stairs.
